A fair vote system ranks the list: every player can vote once per server every 12 hours, and the last 30 days count for the ranking.
Live status for PC servers via Steam query: online/offline, current players, queue and in-game time. PlayStation and Xbox entries show their slot count and community links instead.
Sign in with Discord and add your server: name, platform, map, description, tags, banner and links. PC servers also get an address and query port – the built-in check queries your server live before you even save it. On PlayStation and Xbox you simply enter how many slots your server has.
The list keeps itself current: every couple of minutes we pull the complete DayZ server list from Steam’s official server API — online status, player count, queue, map, version, first-person and in-game time included. Console servers cannot be queried that way; there the slot count, the description and the linked community carry the entry.
Votes push your server up: every signed-in player can vote once per server every 12 hours, and the ranking counts the votes of the last 30 days – so active communities stay on top. On top of that, every 12 hours a random server lands in the Hall of Fame above the list.
Sign in with Discord (free), click "List your server" and fill in name, platform, map and description – plus address and query port on PC, or the slot count on PlayStation and Xbox. Banner, tags and Discord/TeamSpeak/website links are optional. You can edit or remove your entry at any time.
On PC servers our server queries your game server through the public Steam query protocol (A2S) on its query port every few minutes – the same technique server browsers use. That returns online status, player count, queue and even the in-game time. No mod or plugin required. It does not work on PlayStation and Xbox – see the next question.
Listing them, yes – live status, no: PlayStation and Xbox servers do not answer Steam queries from the outside. That is why a console entry lets you enter the slot count yourself, while address and game port stay optional. In return your Discord, TeamSpeak and website links sit right at the top – that is how console players reach your community, and they find the server itself by name in the in-game browser.
Every signed-in user can vote for a server once every 12 hours. The list ranks servers by the votes of the last 30 days, so the ranking stays fresh and fair – long-gone votes don't cement the top spots. The all-time total is shown on the server page.
Every 12 hours a random server from the list is featured at the top – independent of votes. Small and new communities get the same spotlight as the big ones.
Every public DayZ PC server registers itself with Steam. We read that list through Steam’s official server API every couple of minutes, so the browser shows the whole population with live player counts — no registration needed. Operators who add their server on top get a profile with banner, description, tags, links and votes. PlayStation and Xbox servers are not part of the Steam list and are therefore added by hand.
