DayZ Spawnable Types Editor (cfgspawnabletypes.xml)
The cfgspawnabletypes.xml decides what items spawn WITH: which attachments a weapon carries, what loot sits inside vests, backpacks and infected, how damaged things spawn and which containers keep their inventory. Upload your file or start from vanilla — every entry shows real item icons and names from the database, and every value has a plain-language explanation.

Upload your cfgspawnabletypes.xml (or start from the vanilla file of your map). Everything is parsed in the browser — item icons and names come straight from the item database.
Edit any type: toggle hoarder and spawn damage, manage attachments and cargo blocks, adjust chances, add items with search-as-you-type or switch a block to a vanilla random preset.
Download the finished XML — the editor writes clean vanilla-style markup, keeps the original element order and your link stays shareable with your team for 30 days.
Files are stored for 30 days after the last change, then deleted automatically. Anyone with the link can edit — share it only with your team. XML comments are not preserved.
Frequently asked questions
What is the cfgspawnabletypes.xml in DayZ?
It controls the starting loadout of everything the Central Economy spawns: which attachments weapons carry (magazines, optics, suppressors), what cargo sits inside clothing, backpacks and infected, how damaged items spawn (damage min/max) and which containers keep their contents (hoarder). It lives in your mission folder next to types.xml.
How do the chance values work?
A block's chance (0–1) decides whether that attachment or cargo slot gets filled at all — 0.25 means 25%. If it triggers, ONE item is picked from the block's list, weighted by each item's own chance value. So the block chance controls how often, the item chances control what.
What are presets like “foodVillage”?
Presets are reusable item lists defined in cfgrandompresets.xml. Instead of listing items directly, a block can reference a preset by name — vanilla uses this for infected loot. The editor knows all vanilla presets, shows you their contents and warns about unknown names.
Does this work for console servers (Nitrado)?
Yes. cfgspawnabletypes.xml works on PC and console community servers alike: download the file from your host's file browser, edit it here, upload it back into the mission folder and restart the server. No mods needed.
Can I edit modded files with custom items?
Yes. Unknown class names are kept exactly as written and just show a small “unknown item” hint instead of an icon. The editor never drops entries it does not recognize — and the exported XML keeps the original structure and order.
