Trader Mod Editor

Four tools for the Trader Mod by Dr. J0nes. Load your Trader folder or start from the template, then edit everything in a form instead of a text file — the editor writes TraderConfig.txt, TraderVariables.txt, TraderVehicleParts.txt and TraderObjects.txt for you.

Mod

This tool needs the Trader Mod. It only works on servers that allow mods and have the Trader Mod installed (Steam Workshop 1590841260).

Real item icons and names from the DayZ database, in ten languages — modded items work as plain class names.

Trader marker and NPC always stay at the same spot, so the mod actually finds your trader.

Writes exactly the format the mod reads — verified against the mod's own parser.

How it works

Load your existing Trader folder — single files, the whole folder or a ZIP. Nothing is uploaded; everything runs in your browser.

Edit what you need: the shop with icons and prices, the mod settings, the vehicle part lists or the trader locations on the map.

Watch the check panel. It catches the classic mistakes: a trader without a location, a vehicle without parts, a sell price above the buy price.

Download the files and copy them into your server profile under Trader/. Restart the server and the changes are live.

Questions and answers

Do I need the Trader Mod for this?

Yes. The files this editor writes are only read by the Trader Mod by Dr. J0nes (Steam Workshop 1590841260). Your server has to allow mods, which rules out most console servers.

Where do the files go?

Into your server profile folder, in a subfolder called Trader — the same place the mod already reads TraderConfig.txt from. Copy the downloaded files over the old ones and restart the server.

Can I sell modded items?

Yes. The item database only supplies names and icons for comfort. Any class name you type is written to the file, so items from other mods work exactly the same way.

Why does my trader not react in game?

Almost always because the trader marker and the NPC are not at the same position. The mod looks for an object within one metre of the marker; if it finds none, there is no trading action. The location editor keeps both in sync for you.

What do V, VNK, W, M and S mean in the quantity column?

They tell the mod what kind of item it is handing out: V a vehicle with key, VNK a vehicle without one, W a weapon, M a magazine, S a piece of meat and K a key copy. A star means the item spawns with its full amount.

Does the editor keep my comments?

Comment lines are replaced by a fresh header, but switched-off items and categories survive: they stay in the file as comments and you can switch them back on with one click.
