DayZ Types Updater (types.xml)
After every DayZ update the new items only exist in the fresh vanilla types.xml — your customised file doesn't know them, so they never spawn. The Types Updater compares your types.xml directly with Bohemia's official GitHub state for your map, appends the missing entries with original values and shows you exactly what's new. Your values, comments and mod items stay untouched.

Your file never leaves the browser — the comparison runs entirely on your device, nothing is uploaded.
Direct comparison with Bohemia's official Central Economy repo on GitHub — always the current game state, for Chernarus, Livonia and Sakhal.
Your file stays your file: values, order, comments and mod items are never touched — new items are only cleanly appended at the end.
Results in plain language: new items with image and name from the item database, detected mod items and the total count at a glance.
How the Types Updater works
Choose your map and upload your types.xml — the file stays entirely in your browser, nothing is transferred to our server. The updater even detects when the file rather belongs to a different map.
The updater fetches the current vanilla types.xml of your map straight from Bohemia's official GitHub repo and compares every entry with your file. Entries missing from yours are the new items of the latest update; entries without a vanilla counterpart are detected as mod items.
Missing items are appended to the end of your file with original vanilla values — with a comment marker so you find them instantly. Download, upload to mpmissions/<mission>/db/, restart the server, done.
Frequently asked questions
What exactly does the Types Updater do?
It compares your types.xml with the official vanilla types.xml of your map and adds every entry missing from your file — typically the items of a new DayZ update. The new entries arrive with unchanged vanilla values (nominal, lifetime, flags, category, usage, tier) at the end of the file. Everything else in your file is preserved byte for byte.
Where does the vanilla data come from?
Straight from Bohemia's official DayZ-Central-Economy repository on GitHub (master branch) — the same source the game's mission files come from. We cache the state for about 30 minutes; if GitHub is unreachable, a bundled copy of the latest game state steps in.
Are my customised values and mod items preserved?
Yes, guaranteed: the updater does not rewrite your file, it only appends the missing entries before the closing </types>. Your changed values, your order, your XML comments and all mod entries stay exactly as they were.
What counts as a mod item?
Any entry in your file that doesn't exist in your map's vanilla types.xml — in practice almost always items from mods, occasionally classes Bohemia removed from the game. The updater lists them for you but never changes them.
Why do I have to select a map?
Chernarus, Livonia and Sakhal each have their own types.xml with map-exclusive items (Sakhal for example has different weapons than Chernarus). The comparison only works against the right map — which is why the updater also checks whether your file matches the selected map and warns you otherwise.
